What We’re Made Of

What We're Made Of

Forgive me if I haven’t been posting as much lately.

I have been preparing for my one week trip to Bangkok, a trip I hopefully will be able to share with all of you soon.

For the meantime, I shall leave you with this:

We are made of starlight.

Yes, part water, part blood, part bones, part biological make up but have you ever considered that we are made of something more?

Something beyond human?

Don’t worry, I won’t go theological with this.

I’ll go more poetic, I guess.

Have you ever wondered what was in you aside from that snack you just had? Something more than just the molecules, something more than what philosophy and science can teach you?

I think that once you consider that you are made up of something more than those, you appreciate yourself more, you believe in yourself more and you live more.

I guess what I’m pointing out here is that we’re made up of more than just what we know.

Ever since I heard this line by Taylor Swift(yes, this line is by Taylor Swift), my perspectives have changed on what I am as a person. What if we are made of starlight? Of fairy dust? Of magic?

Wouldn’t that be amazing?

But who said you weren’t made of starlight or fairy dust or magic? Scientists? Philosophers? Psh, screw what they say. You believed in magic when you were little and changed your perspectives only when these guys told you otherwise with proof.

But sometimes, we have to believe in things we know is true; even without proof.

Call me crazy for believing that I’m part starlight or fairy dust but what if I am? What if we are? Even just by a tiny 1%?

If you think about it, part of what we’re made of is what the stars are made of too. So, in a sense, we’re made of stardust, if not starlight. :))
